Poker Purgatory Promos - Bluffers Grim

While working on Poker Purgatory, I ended up handling a considerable amount of the game's promotional material. As part of this, I even created two smaller projects - Poker Purgatory Web Codex, and The Dragon of Lysalkan x Poker Purgatory.

Web Codex is fairly self-explanatory. It's a web reimplementation of the main game's codex menu, embedded on the main itch.io page. This required me to essentially recreate the system from scratch in Unreal Engine 4, and it was a struggle to keep the entire file size below the 200 mb limit! 

I think it's a strong first impression for newcomers to the project, showcasing the various enemy designs, the background lore, and the general soundscape and art assets.

The Dragon of Lysalkan x Poker Purgatory is a little more confusing! I wanted to make a game that would promote Poker Purgatory to the audience of The Dragon of Lysalkan, and vice versa. The result of this was a special package that combines Her Last Night In Lysalkan, a new demo for The Dragon of Lysalkan, and an entirely new episode entitled And Far Away, which draws inspiration from the mythos of Poker Purgatory to deliver an entirely new story with a ton of nods to that game. This would then be given out as a special download code at the Falmouth Games Academy Expo 2026, along with being included as a bonus in the physical edition of the game given out at the Expo. It ended up not being distributed much, so I've opted to offer it as an extra free download here.
