Miscelleanous University Projects

GENRE: Various
ROLE: Various
ENGINE: Unreal Engine 5, Unity
YEAR: 2023 - 2024

This page compiles a few university projects that aren't quite up to my quality standards, but I think still deserve a mention here. I learned a lot of valuable lessons on these projects, and they're a good showcase of my progression. They're also the only projects on this portfolio to be made in Unity.
More detailed breakdowns of each project can be found on the image slide below.

Avoidance

This project was a complete disaster from the start, being a group project where several group members never showed up. Our original design plan proved too much for the few teammembers remaining, and we had to change course a lot on the gameplay mechanics.

In spite of everything, the remaining team managed to pull through and make a playable game that squeezed every possible bit of content from the little material we had.
For example, I used a scrapped tank controls movement system to make an entire alternate gamemode.

Overall, I learned valuable lessons about being flexible with design plans.

Plans change over time, and as long as something good came out of it, that's usually enough.

Untitled 105

This was a project that required making a Unity game that utilized Fungus, a dialogue plugin.
My resulting project was a simple role-playing game.
I had a lot of fun working on it, and I ended up working a scrapped personal project into it by recycling graphics for this.

I learned how to make a lot from very little- I had barely any assets and very few mechanics, and a required target of at least 10 minutes of gameplay. The final game is longer than that, and encourages replayability.
